I just stumbled across a few photos from a shoot I did last year in Hamburg. I only now realised that I’ve never published them on my blog and that I didn’t even uploaded all of them on Instagram (shame on me). I remember that we started shooting very early (to avoid shooting on an overcrowded beach) and the weather was not even close to being how we thought it would be. When you think of going to the beach you expect blue skies, sunshine and a fresh breeze but on that day it was freezing cold, grey, cloudy and very windy. Looking back at the photos now I think that exactly this weather is what really sets the mood on those pictures. Looking for a matching quote I found this beautiful phrase by Robinson Jeffers which is the perfect heading for this shoot: The tides are in our veins.
